CLC Meals app screens: weekly menus, customize your week, and admin dashboard

CLC Meals
Custom Ordering App

Proposal and Timeline

Prepared for Katelin Dial and Anne Alfano Kristine Neil Studio, September 2026
Where we are 02 / 05

What we already covered.

CLC has outgrown Squarespace as the system that runs the business. It works for the marketing site, but ordering, customization, and weekly operations need something built around how you actually work. On our August call we discussed:

Move ordering and operations into a custom app
Keep clcmeals.com on a basic Squarespace plan For now
Be live before the October renewal

The hard part is already built.

Preview the app Live and clickable today.

Done, matching the CLC brand

Meals library Weekly menus Add-ons and protein choices Customer accounts with delivery address and allergies Basic admin area

Remaining for launch

Checkout with Stripe Moving your customers over Email and text notifications Connecting the app to your site
On Shopify

Squarespace is clearly out, so the real comparison is Shopify. Once you add the subscription, delivery, and account plugins, plus the custom development to make them work together, the cost lands about where this app does. The difference is what you end up with: a cobbled-together stack of third party tools instead of one bespoke app that handles allergen profiles, protein swaps, and packing lists. The app is also a foundation to grow on: it is entirely yours and entirely customizable, so new service options or delivery areas can be built into it as CLC expands.

The plan 03 / 05

Live in October, steady by the new year.

September

Launch build

$2,500

Stripe checkout and payment Migrate existing customers and the meals library Order confirmation, delivery reminder, and "menu is live" emails and texts sent automatically from the app Connect the app to clcmeals.com Start carrier registration for business texting (takes a few weeks to approve, so it begins on day one)

October

Launch

$2,500

Go live before your Squarespace renewal Set up an email marketing platform and connect it to the app so your list grows as customers order, with texting switched on once carrier approval comes through Downgrade Squarespace to a basic site plan, dropping from $99 to $29 a month Fixes to what has been built, based on the first weeks of real orders

November

Packing checklist

$2,500

Packing checklist with allergy flags per household, ready for the delivery team Continued fixes to launched features

December

OPS DASHBOARD

$2,500

Ops dashboard with the CEO numbers pulled automatically Team training once you are running real orders Handover of the 2027 roadmap so the new year starts with a clear list

Each month is planned around an October launch. If launch moves because of something on the CLC side (content, Stripe verification, or SMS carrier approval), the monthly payments stay on schedule and the work continues. Fixes during the build cover features already built. Small changes after launch are covered by your monthly hours; anything roadmap-sized gets its own estimate.

2027 roadmap

Once the app has a few months of real orders behind it, these are the next additions. Bigger than a monthly tweak, so each is estimated when you are ready for it.

Delivery routing by neighborhood
Customer account features: reorder last week, pause, saved preferences
Marketing automations: welcome series, weekly menu announcement flow
Ordering analytics and insights
Ongoing maintenance & support 04 / 05

From January: $750 a month.

The build runs through December, so the new year starts clean. From January I stay on as your technology partner. This covers:

Hosting and all tooling costs (database, hosting, email, SMS, marketing platform)
Monitoring, security updates, and keeping everything current
Up to 3 hours of changes and tweaks each month
Priority support when something needs attention

Tooling is included at normal usage for a business your size. If list size or text volume grows to the point where vendor costs change materially, I will flag it before it affects the monthly fee.

Month to month, with 30 days notice to end.

What happens if things change.

Your accounts, not mine.

Every account is set up in CLC's name from the start. I am an administrator and handle the vendor billing while you are on the monthly plan, but your business never runs on my accounts.

During the build.

Monthly payments cover the work delivered in that month and are not refundable. The code remains with Kristine Neil Studio until purchased.

If you end the monthly plan.

Give 30 days notice, complete the code purchase if you have not already, and move the vendor billing to a CLC payment method. I will provide a documented handover so any developer can pick it up. No lockout and no surprises.

You can buy the full code base at any time.

$5,000

In the first 12 months

$2,000

After 12 months on the monthly plan

Included

At no cost after 24 months

Staying on the plan earns you the code over time. The purchase covers the CLC app in full. It is yours and will not be sold to another company. Kristine Neil Studio keeps the right to reuse general components and patterns in future work.
